| Dryers are used to reduce the moisture content of wool, to enable safe packing and handling of wool bales for shipment. The dryers operate by forcing heated, dry air through a wool 'mat', with moisture stripped from the wool in the process. A unique design of dryers at GWS enables much lower gas usage than normally occurs.
Photo of the wool mat passing through dryers... After passing through the dryers, wool passes through scoured wool openers, which assist in removing dirt particles from the wool.
